  The Bike From Tomb Raider

Unfortunately I can't tell you what the Matrix is...Hm, sorry, wrong line. I meant to say unfortunately you don't get to see that much of the bike in the movie. But the few glances I got at it, made me wonder "what the hell is she riding?". So once again I went hunting for some info on the web...and was quite disapointed. Most people out there think the bike is a Harley or a Norton, as said in the game. No way neither to find a good pic nor info on the mods made.

Exclusive pictures

  • Pics of the Tomb Raider prototype
On exclusivity on Budohead !! Those pictures are snapshots from the movie. Unfortunately the bike does not entire in its entirety that often. [pictures]

  • A few examples of modified TRX
There are a few guys out there who have modified their TRX along the lines of the prototype that is used in the movie. Maybe those examples will help you if you are looking into modifying your TRX [Custom TRX]

Yamaha 850 TRX
I already spoiled the surprise earlier, the bike is based on the Yamaha 850 TRX.
The TRX was launched by Yamaha in the mid-nineties with the idea of competing with the Ducati Monstro. The TRX features a tubular steel frame as well as a two cylinders engine. Contrary to Ducati, Yamaha didn't go for a V engine architecture but rather used its good old inline twin. A 750cc version of the same engine made its proof on what was called in France the Super-Tenere, a Yamaha version of the Honda Africa Twin.
